Multi-cultural Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

In our family, we have many different backgrounds, Chinese, Filipino, Latin and American. So our Thanksgiving tends to be a unusual affair.

One Thanksgiving, we went to my wife’s uncle’s house. The food included a garlic laden turkey, sushi, chow mein, and bbq pork. Quite a mix of food. Not your traditional turkey, yams, mashed potatoes and string beans.

This year, we are doing the Hong Kong tradition of going to a nice hotel buffet for dinner. In Hong Kong, the common thing is to go out to a fancy hotel buffet and then hang out with the family doing things. In America, it is going to a home and hanging out there. We chose this year to go out. This makes life a lot easier!

No matter what you are doing or where you are, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
