How to make a few bucks online!

February 3rd, 2007

Got on email today from a colleague. He sent me a link to an easy and simple sounding method of making additional cash.

It sounded really interesting so I bought it. Only $7.

Turns out to be the best value I’ve got from $7 for ages.

What do you get for your money?

You get a Report and a Script.

The Report shows you how you can use a beautifully simple but powerful viral marketing system to generate web traffic and
sales - fast.

The Script lets you integrate this viral system into any report you write or own the rights to.

So you get the knowledge and the technology - all for just $7

It’s really, really neat.

So if you’ve got 15 minutes spare and want to get wise to some very sophisticated marketing tactics, then spend your money here and enjoy the read.

Take a look now at it here!

How to download TV Shows

February 2nd, 2007

I have Windows Media center edition on my laptop. I thought it was a good buy and I have found it to be useful, but I really don’t play too much with the Media side of things. It has an S-Video jack and theoretically can play movies and shows to the TV. I am not that wire in that I have it linked to my TV, but I do watch DVD’s and shows that I download off the Internet.

I enjoy watching shows and while surfing around I ran across this site that allows you to download TV Shows, software and more through fast file sharing technology.

A dystopian future - looking beyond Windows Vista

January 31st, 2007

Yesterday, Microsoft released Vista. Vista is great and all, but by adopting to Microsoft’s software, you are allowing yourself to be a subject of their license. When you install any program do you read the License agreement? Linux offers the freedom to install what you want and run what you want without a “big brother” type license. Read the article below. You will find it interesting. (Be sure to look at the link on DRM - Digital Rights Management).

If Microsoft’s latest patent application is anything to go by then the next version of Windows, Vista+1 is really going to give you nightmares.

Bill Gates on The Daily Show

January 30th, 2007

Today is the launch of Windows Vista. I am sure you are all scurrying out there to get your copy. What no? hmmmm.. Early returns are that not a lot of people stayed up overnight waiting in the snow outside the local Bestbuy either. Ultimately, Vista will pervade our lives, but it is not the overnight success that Windows 95 was when it was released.

Here is an entertaining video of Bill Gates discussing Vista.

Watch out iTunes here comes Amazon

January 30th, 2007

I just discovered today that Amazon is now into the play on demand service. They are offering TV shows and Movies for download in a pay-per-24 hour format. You can get 24, CSI, and a slew of other shows right to your PC. iTunes has had this for a while, but now Amazon has jumped in. This is a great thing as the more competition, the better for the consumer. Of course the best thing is not having to watch the ads that you get on over-the-air TV.

Behind-the-scenes: Space Shuttle’s Safety-Critical Software

January 30th, 2007

This is an older article, but one I always reference. Most people are impressed with things like Microsoft Software, but this article shows that commercial software is kids play compared to Space Shuttle launch software.

The inspiring article discusses the rigorous software development process NASA goes through to develop software for the Shuttle. Although being very expensive, the software is nearly flawless due to the SEI level 5 development process and runs on a quad-redundant system. This process lets the low-key engineers lead normal 8-5 lives.
